Keep Calm & Call at Oakworth
In The Yard
Step beyond the platform and into wartime Britain at Oakworth. The Goods Yard will be alive with the sights and sounds of the Home Front, as the Haworth Home Front Group and West Riding ARP bring the 1940s to life.
Back on the platform, enjoy the unmistakable sound of George Formby classics drifting through the station, adding a touch of wartime cheer and singalong spirit to the weekend.
From air raid precautions to good old-fashioned entertainment, Oakworth captures the true spirit of the forties in the heart of the Worth Valley.
In the Station
The Tin Hat Tavern will be stationed inside the Booking Hall throughout the weekend, helping keep spirits high with hand-pulled real ale, draught lager, bottled drinks, plus a selection of wines and spirits. Perfect for a quick refreshment between trains.
If you fancy a brew or two, wander down into the Yard and pay a visit to the Tea Hut, which serves hot drinks, sweet treats, and ice creams throughout the weekend.
And for something properly filling, tuck into a special 1940s-style Ploughman’s Lunch — a simple wartime favourite, done the Yorkshire way.
